Where In-House Lawyers Succeed Together
Formerly the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA), CBA In-House Lawyers (CBA-IL) is the national voice and forum for in-house counsel in Canada. If you’re an in-house lawyer, your CBA membership entitles you to a CBA In-House Lawyers regular membership (with access to both national and branch CBA-IL Section activities) at no extra cost.

CBA In-House Lawyers Membership Categories
Choose from two categories of membership:
Regular members – In-house lawyers who are regular members of the CBA, employed by, or providing legal services to, any business enterprise, association, institution, not-for-profit organization, Crown corporation, municipal corporation, government, regulatory body or agency. Only regular members may vote at member meetings and elect the Executive Committee.
Associate members – Lawyers who are regular, associate or affiliate members of the CBA, but who are not otherwise included in the definition of regular CBA-IL members. Through their expertise and support, associate members play a welcome and necessary role in the CBA0IL, and can join through the CBA branch office in their jurisdiction.
How to Join CBA In-House Lawyers
New or renewing members of the CBA can join CBA-IL or renew their CBA-IL membership as follows:
- When you JOIN the CBA -- Simply complete the CBA-IL portion of the Join Online application process.
- When you RENEW your membership or UPDATE your profile -- Simply complete the CBA-IL portion of the RENEW Online application process. Those eligible for regular CBA-IL membership can update their member profile or contact the National Office.
Those CBA members interested in joining the CBA-IL as associate members must do so through their CBA branch section enrolment form.
